Field-trip to Barryscourt Castle
Former students now working as Tour-guides do us proud in Barryscourt Castle, Carrigtwohill
This Wednesday, we had an excellent field-trip to Barryscourt Castle in Carrigtwohill and were treated to excellent tours by Robin Turnbull and Shirley Lougheed, both former students of Cultural & Heritage Studies at CSN.
There was a special emphasis on the Apple Orchard which holds a wonderful collection of rare and endangered old Irish apple varieties. Students helped themselves to a rare opportunity to taste some of the apples: a true sensual experience of our shared heritage.
